Earlier this year, Hot Studio partnered with TED to grant Dave Eggers’ wish by launching Once Upon a School. A site where participants can pledge to help individual schools, classes, teachers or kids–and then tell the world how they did it. Since TED, numerous people have been inspiring others by sharing their stories, plus there are many public school partnerships now in the works.

So today, to help spur more of these partnership, the TED Prize Team announced a challenge to encourage everyone to participate in the lives of public school students. The challenge is to design and implement a new and innovative project for a local public school and tell us about it. The leader/initiator of three projects that best encapsulate the TED Prize spirit will each receive a pass to TED2009 in Long Beach. Deadline for submissions is October 31, 2008.

This is great news! Can’t wait to read the stories that result from this new level of awareness around the wish. Nice going!
